Rachel, what a pleasure to stumble across this article by you. I can’t tell you how much your words both resonated and reassured, small is I deed beautiful and you’ve helped me feel even more grateful to each and every one of my loyal readers 💕
A wonderful post, Rachel! I love your approach. I also believe that small is better, and it was so refreshing to read about your bakery and how you didn't give in the pressure to grow. Your recipe is the best, though. :) Thank you for a great post on SmallStack! :)
Thank you! I think some of the Stay Small ingredients sprung from my upbringing in Belgium where small businesses creating community were the norm in my small town.❤️
That sounds wonderful! So glad you were able to bring that mindset with you and offer it to another community. :) I always seek out small businesses, but too often I’ve seen them grow to a point where they lost their individuality, or stayed small and went out of business. So I can appreciate what you’re created, and admire you for being able to keep it small and still successful in the US. Your Substack has the same feel, now I understand where it’s coming from :)
Thought you might be able to relate! I was interviewed once for a magazine and the interviewer brought this to my attention: long holidays, small and community-oriented, a way to make a living not huge profits. “Did you bring that from Belgium maybe?”🤔 😂😊
Yes, it was a great story! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for reading!
I’m sorry, but I could not find the link.
Here it is!
