Yes, I remember so many reading meals growing up, often during Christmas or summer vacations.🥰

I love this, and really love all your lovely photos of the books that mean so much to you. Half the container we shipped over the Atlantic ocean nine years ago was full of my books. I have kept collecting since, to the point that my little Amsterdam apartment is full to bursting. The only solution at this point is to open a bookshop. ;)

Which it looks like you’re doing! That’s amazing! You won’t ever have to be separated from your books.

I’ve worked at a college library and there is a distinct smell and feel that I love about shelves of books. Thanks for reading!

I was so disappointed when I went to grad school and discovered the university library was all closed stacks. I love a good browse.

My best memories are breakfast reading during Christmas vacation. Also, sometimes if the mail would come before lunch, we would have mail reading lunches.😊

I also love the summer reading programs at the library, Rachel. What a great way to keep people engaged and reading, especially when there are many other less inspiring things we could be doing. Thanks for sharing your memories here with the pod.

Thanks for reading! We had a reading hour or two every summer with books from the library.

Your experience with books feels familiar, and so much like my own 🥰

When my mother married my step-dad when I was 7, I gained a dad AND his enormous library, it shaped me in so many wonderful ways! 💗

Isn’t it amazing how our lives are richer because of those in-built libraries? 💕

Loved this, Rachel! Sounds like we had similar upbringing, and similar ways to introduce our own children to books. :) Great photos of your books!

I love the idea of trying to link your travel books to your travel destination. What a cool way to discover something you might otherwise never read!

I learn so much that way and it prepares me positively for a new landscape and cultural experience.

Books have always been a part of my life too, Rachel. It was with a heavy heart I left my wall of books when I moved country, but I thought of them as landing in the lives of others and spreading joy via their pages. My collection has started growing again! Thanks for sharing. It's lovely to have a glimpse of other's lives.

I have downsized my collection over the years but we are lucky to live within walking distance of our public library. And I always have a book in progress. Thanks for reading!

Thank you for reading!

I love when I start a book and my schedule allows me to read it as long as I want to. And, yes, there have been many late nights (and bitten nails) over books!

Was your father a teacher? Your experience with going downstairs to find a book for a research project sounds much like mine.

Well, he was a teacher, professor, pastor, academic…I learned so much from him. (One of the books in the photos is his.❤️)
