We are having a heatwave in England too - I close all the blinds, put on our fans, walk the dog at 6 to 7am when it’s cool, keep a jug of iced water in the fridge and plenty of icecream !
I’d enjoy receiving your July inspirations. Thank you. I’m finding that the weather at our new spot in CA is cooler in the evenings than I thought it would be! Lovely 🌴
I definitely slow way down when it's hot. We don't have AC in the house, like many French people, but at least we have it in the office! I love the evenings, though.
We are far south enough that it could, but certain areas of Aveyron are high-ish altitude. For example where I live we’re 625 meters up and nearby parts are even higher. Temps are often 2 to 5 degrees C lower than the warmest areas of the south, which I definitely appreciate during the summer!
Sitting on my porch right now drinking coffee. Listening to the birds. No breeze at all. It’s going to be a hot one today. I will follow your advice. 💛

Yes, slowing down is good! Hot and humid is my least favorite weather.

Thank you, Rachel.
I’ll add you to the list. I’m baking less in this heat!

Are you far enough south that the slow life kicks in automatically, like ‘en Provence’?

Nice!
Plants are watered, birds are fed, coffee consumed. Now to plan that hot weather menu for the week.
I’m still on my second cup and making our favorite lentil salad for lunch.
