If I cooked and baked as well as you do, I'm sure I'd be twice my ideal weight! At sugaring off time, we make fèves au lard (baked beans). Recipes vary, but ingredients typically include beans, molasses or brown sugar, sometimes ketchup, and bacon or lard. I don't care for them much, but my husband loves them for breakfast with eggs and bacon.
This makes me want to build a brick oven outside our house, as I have always loved cooking with fire. I watched the Francis Mallman episode from Mind of a Chef, and he cooks everything over an open fire. For weeks after watching it I would stoke a fire in our fire pit and tuck winter squash in the coals, or drop eggplants right in the flame to char them into submission. I cooked an entire meal in one of my cast iron skillets set directly over the fire and i will never forget how good that all tasted. There's just something about fire and food that draws me in.
I'm in for drop by in July! I enjoyed the May series.
I’ve added you to the list!
I think I already sent a note to add me, but just in case ---- please do!
Yes, you’ve been added!

Ha!
Those beans sound like they would do great in the woodfired oven. Nice tradition. I have a recipe for beans that includes maple syrup (and ginger).
I so looked forward to your daily nudges in May and enjoyed reading each one. Please put me on your list for July.
I’ve added you! Thanks!

It somehow makes everything taste better.
I would like a daily nudge. Thanks, looking forward to it.
I’ll add you to the list!
Thank you so very much.
May I please join.
Yes. I'll add you to the list.
Me too! I missed out on May...
Great! You are added.
I would love to join you in July for the “once a day” — thank you!
Lovely! You are now on the list.
