We have a fireplace on our porch, so it's the best of both worlds. We have clear vinyl sliding curtains to extend the season in the fall going into winter. We love to get the fireplace going on those not-too-cold days, put on a heavy sweater or coat, pull up a couple of chairs close to the fireplace and sip on a warm beverage.

I didn’t grow up with a front porch so, for me, the soul was always the kitchen, the hearth.
But now, I might just agree with you, at least during the seasons we use it. In winter, it’s still the wood stove and the kitchen.
