A good reminder to take time out from ever present jobs to do. And, just last week I read the story, Frederick, to my grandson…we love taking time together to notice bugs, plants, leaves and small ”stuff.”
Beautifully written and expressed Rachel - thank you. I need such thoughts as I lie in pain feeling sorry for myself. My life is on hold for a while … cancelled holiday, cancelled Art exhibition … but the sun has been shining all day and the garden is still beautiful as summer comes to an end.
I find the end of August a mixed bag of feelings. I am looking forward to the autumn and the colors and chills and pre-winter atmosphere. Yet I want the light, that diminishes day by day, to linger. I'm excited for autumn's fog and musty smells yet al have anticipatory grief for the summer colors and heat.
Loved this! 🙌 Fall is my favorite season, but this is reminding me to appreciate everything that’s been blooming around me. Reminds me of Gibran “the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair”
Love this Rachel. We wrote in a similar theme this week. I’m back to working full time today so really thinking of how I can still savor summer through the transition.
What an amazing connection - a few days ago I thought to myself that I am like Frederick, collecting light, color and words. 🙂Such a good book. Such a good post.

I hope you find the source of pain and heal quickly. Sun does make a difference!
Thanks Rachel - my Consultant suspects a slipped disc or rheumatoid arthritis- all will be revealed hopefully on the scan.
Good luck with your treatment- stay positive ❤️

Yes. And, at least here, the light changes as well. Thanks, Julia!
That was beautiful, Rachel! I always enjoy your writing, the connections you make. :)
Thank you, Emese!

And memories created linger well into the school year. Thank for reading, Mary.

That is amazing! Yes, I always think of Frederick at this time of year, when the animals are so busy collecting.
